Two people have been arrested after allegedly carjacking a woman and kidnapping her two children overnight in Raleigh.

Police identified the suspects as Mateo Domingo Medina, 23, of Zebulon, and Chardazha Naimon Alston, 23, of Wendell. Authorities say the pair assaulted a woman in the parking lot of the Food Lion at 3685 New Bern Avenue on Thursday, stealing her black Mazda with her children—an 11-year-old autistic, non-verbal girl and a 4-year-old—still inside.
Investigators described the incident as a domestic dispute.
An officer later spotted the stolen Mazda at Duke Raleigh Hospital, where both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Medina and Alston face multiple charges, including first-degree kidnapping and larceny of a motor vehicle. Medina is being held without bond, while Alston’s bond is set at $5,000. Their first court appearances are scheduled for Friday.
Police confirmed both children were found safe and have been reunited with their mother.
