Vanessa Esquivel Frisco Texas Accident; Frisco Woman Arrested for Murder of Toddler Left in Hot Car; Read More

Authorities have arrested 27-year-old Vanessa Esquivel in connection with the tragic death of her 15-month-old child, who was left in a vehicle for more than two hours on August 16, 2025. The incident occurred on a day when temperatures reached at least 95 degrees, and investigators noted that the car’s air conditioning was not functioning.

Officials determined that Esquivel’s actions constituted murder due to the intentional endangerment of her child, which directly led to the toddler’s death. A warrant was issued, and Esquivel was taken into custody by Dallas Police on August 20. She was subsequently transferred to Frisco authorities and is now held at Collin County Jail with bond set at $250,000.

She faces charges of 1st-degree felony murder, which carries a potential prison sentence of five years to life and fines up to $10,000. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the case to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.

The community and law enforcement continue to mourn this heartbreaking loss, emphasizing the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles, particularly during extreme heat.
