The Conroe Police Department has released details regarding a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon in the 500 block of North Freeway. Authorities confirmed the rider who lost his life as 20-year-old Santiago Bettini.
Officials said the crash happened just before 12:30 p.m., when Bettini was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed on a Honda motorcycle, weaving in and out of traffic. The motorcycle clipped the back of a Nissan Altima, which caused Bettini to be ejected and collide with a Texas Department of Transportation barrier truck.
Conroe Police Officers and TXDOT personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures until Conroe Fire and EMS arrived, but Bettini was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Conroe Police Chief Buckholtz offered condolences, stating, “The Conroe Police Department extends sincere prayers to all individuals involved in this tragic incident.” The investigation remains ongoing.
