The Charters Towers community is mourning the sudden loss of Robert Michael Pemble, fondly known to many as “Brindle” or “Bob.” Late of “Allan Hills Station” Homestead, Robert passed away at the age of 34, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and a love for life that touched all who knew him.
Robert’s passion for helicopters was well known. Whether it was watching them soar across the outback skies, talking about their mechanics, or taking the opportunity to be near them whenever he could, helicopters were more than just a fascination—they were a part of his spirit of adventure.
A devoted father, loving partner, cherished son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and grandson, Robert was also a loyal mate to many. His warmth, humor, and generosity made him a constant source of support and joy to those in his life. Friends recall his ability to connect with anyone, from a quick chat in town to long conversations under the wide Queensland sky.
Robert’s life will be honored at a graveside service at the Lynd Highway Cemetery on Friday, 22 August, commencing at 10:00 am. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man whose presence brought light to so many.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his adventurous heart, steadfast loyalty, and the love he shared so freely. Rest easy, Bob—your journey now continues among the clouds you so admired.
