The Massachusetts community is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of Michael LaRhette, a respected facilitator, executive coach, and champion of collaborative innovation, who died Saturday in a boating accident off Nantasket Beach.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 9:50 a.m., the U.S. Coast Guard crew from Station Point Allerton discovered an overturned vessel with a person in the water near Nantasket Beach. Rescue teams—including the State Police Marine Unit, Hull police and fire departments, and the Harbormaster—rushed to the scene.
Michael was pulled from the water, and first responders performed CPR before he was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that no other people or vessels were involved. The incident remains under investigation.
Witnesses described an intense search effort, with planes, helicopters, and boats combing the shoreline. “We saw them canvasing, using planes over the area… They were doing a grid-by-grid search overhead,” recalled beachgoer Jack Sarkisian.
Beyond the tragic circumstances of his passing, Michael will be remembered for the life he built and the impact he had on those around him. A graduate of Boston College and Boston University, Michael dedicated his career to helping entrepreneurs and global platforms succeed through collaborative innovation and design. His work as a facilitator and executive coach empowered countless leaders to think differently, build stronger teams, and create lasting change.
Friends and colleagues knew Michael as a thoughtful mentor, an insightful strategist, and a warm, approachable presence who believed deeply in the power of human connection. His commitment to helping others “win” extended far beyond business—he invested in people, communities, and ideas with a generosity that left a lasting mark.
As the investigation continues, the community reflects not on the tragedy alone but on the remarkable contributions and spirit of a man who lived with purpose and passion.
Michael LaRhette’s legacy will live on in the leaders he inspired, the innovations he championed, and the relationships he nurtured. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many whose lives he touched.
