At approximately 7 pm, deputies responded to an incident in the area of Trabuco Road and El Toro Road in Lake Forest. During the encounter, a deputy-involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was struck during the incident and has been transported to a local hospital for treatment. One deputy sustained an injury unrelated to the gunfire.
The area remains closed as investigators process the scene. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area due to ongoing law enforcement activity.
